NEWS

Congratulations Tiger Pride!

Congratulations to the members of the Tiger Pride Marching Band for an excellent start to the 2009 season! The band received first place at the Putnam, CT competition and third place with best music at Rocky Hill, CT. Good luck on at your next competition on October 10. GO TIGERS!

What's Been Going On

No moss has gathered on this rolling stone! Since July, students and parent volunteers have pitched in with concession sales, UMass program sales, 50/50 raffles, bottle and can redemptions, and of course the Penny Drive that netted $4,100. Many thanks to all those who have generously offered their time thus far!

Our work continues... although we've had some successful fundraisers, we are not in the black yet! Here are just some of the expenses and financial commitments we need to meet:

*Please note, these numbers are rounded up and do not include all expenses anticipated. Please attend our next planning meeting for a full financial report.

SENIOR MOMENTS

Katie Doody's '10 favorite part of performing in the SHHS choral groups is the sense of community. "I love that we're a close group and how comfortable we are with each other," she says. Katie performs in the Concert Choir, Show Choir and Vocal Roar. Her favorite subject is history, which she may decide to study in college. In her spare time she enjoys listening to show tunes and classic rock, and pursuing her interest in acting and writing..

Michael Wojciechowski '10 has played the trumpet in the Marching Band for several years. "I like that everyone looks out for one another," says Mike. "We're like a family." His favorite subject this year is science class with Coach Benoit. As for future plans, he's looking at the US Air Force or possibly working in electronics repair. Outside of band, Mike likes to listen to rock rap and pop rock music and hanging with friends.
