2010 - 2011 Music Calendar

2010 - 2011 Executive Board
SHMPA's executive board isn't wasting any time getting down to business! During the months of July and August, fundraisers were held at the opening the Beachgrounds Spray Park, 4th of July celebration, Music on the Commons, and of course can and bottle recycling at the town landfill. To date the summer fundraisers have raised over $1,000!
Your 2010 - 2011 Executive Board members are:

A volunteer is still needed to fill the secretary position. The secretary records minutes at monthly meeting and assists with various events and activities. Please contact Cynthia Lambert at 536-1117 to help fill this important role!

SHMPA has made a commitment to the SHHS Music program to help cover the following costs for the 2010 - 2011 season:

Concert on the Commons - featuring South Hadley High Students!
On Thursday, September 2 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. SHMPA will coordinate a free concert on the Commons to support community pride and to showcase our talented students. The performance will include: Vocal Roar, Show Choir, and the Tiger Pride Marching Band.
SHMPA will have dinner concessions (bring your appetite), raffle prizes, and a 50/50 drawing. Bring your family, call your friend, and invite your neighbors to this wonderful town performance by our very own students!

BAND CAMP UPDATE
The Tiger Pride Marching Band will hold band camp at South Hadley High School from August 16 - 20 from 9 -12, 1 - 4, and 5 - 7:30.
Each band member should bring:
- 3 x 5 spiral bound notecards
- pen / pencil
- refillable water bottle
- snacks, lunch or lunch money
- sunscreen!
*Permission forms for upcoming SHMPA events will be handed out during camp. Please ask your student these forms and be sure to return completed copies by the last day of Band Camp.
Families and friends are invited to a free performance at the close of Band Camp on Friday, August 20 at the high school at 3:00 p.m. Volunteers needed for ice cream feast at 12:30.

SHOW CHOIR CAMP UPDATE Show Choir camp for Adrenaline will be held at South Hadley High from August 23 - 27: MWF 9 - 4, TH 8 - 2, Fri 9 - 4.*Permission forms for upcoming SHMPA events will be handed out during camp. Please ask your student for these forms and be sure to return completed copies by the last day of Show Choir camp.
Families and friends are invited to a Show Choir Cabaret on Friday, August 27 at the high school at 7 p.m. Admission: $5 adults, $3 seniors & children. Volunteers needed to bake, sell tickets, and staff concessions!
BE A DRIVER AT THE PENNY DRIVE ON SEPTEMBER 11! It's time for our biggest fundraiser of the year! Our goal this year is to collect $4,000 in pennies from friends and neighbors around South Hadley. We need 35 adult drivers are needed to drive volunteers to an assigned route to collect pennies. Sign up sheets will be sent home with students - please return them as soon as possible! A successful turn-out at this event will bring us half the way to reaching our financial commitment for the year!

UMASS Football Program Sales
Help us sell programs at UMass football games and we'll earn $1 for every sale. You'll see Minuteman action, as well as the Minuteman Marching half-time show! Volunteers are needed for the following games: 9/4, 9/11, 10/16, 11/6, 11/13. Contact Elena Lamontagne at 896-6567 or email shmpa09@gmail.com to sign-up!

We have been unable to contact the winner of our 50/50 drawing held at the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. If you know Arlene Cole, please have her contact Cynthia Lambert at 536-1117 or shmpa09@gmail.com to collect her winnings!
